Experience Solutions were invited to work with the charity Cats Protection, in the very early stages of their new website project, to help them plan the requirements for the new design and development.
With many ideas for the new site, and multiple internal clients to satisfy, the Cats Protection team were having difficulty in prioritising the scope of the website. It was therefore important to understand the users of the site and prioritise the content and functionality based on their needs.
Working closely with the Cats Protection team we began the project with a user profiling workshop to differentiate the multiple user types and prioritise their needs. After agreeing the priority users, and assigning business goals for each, we conducted a user experience audit of the current Cats Protection website and its key competitor websites.
For each site we compiled a set of user experience scores along with key learning points. Our recommendations were then prioritised to help the Cats Protection team plan the best user experience possible for their new site.
Our report was used as the brief to potential agencies, and provided the foundations of the final scope of work. We are looking forward to seeing the results soon and comparing the new site against the benchmark usability scores from our research.
